How do I transfer a domain from one holder to another?
We can only carry out holder changes for domains that we are the current registrar for.

.no/.se/.eu/.be/.de

For .no/.se/.eu/.be/.de domains, use the following procedure to change holder:

  1. Log into the control panel at www.domainnameshop.com/login, select the domain from the list under "My domains", click on "Edit contact info" and then on "Change owner". Fill in the contact info for the new holder and submit the order.
  2. When both the new and the old holder have confirmed the holder change, the domain will be transferred to the new holder. Both parties will receive a receipt by email when the holder change is complete, and the new administrator of the domain may then log into the control panel and verify that all contact information is correct. It is of particular importance to verify that the billing address is correct after the holder change has been completed.
NB! Holder change for .no, .eu and .be domains will incur a charge of one yearly fee, and the new expiry date of the domain will be one year after the holder change has completed. Holder change for .se, .de and .it domains is free of charge, and will not affect the expiry date of the domain.

.dk

For .dk domains, use the following procedure to change holder:

  1. Go to http://www.dk-hostmaster.dk/index.php?id=192 and follow the directions on the page.
  2. After a holder change the billing contact for the domain in DK-Hostmaster's system is set to the new owner. If you want Domainnameshop to bill you for renewal of the domain after the holder change, you must change the billing contact and proxy for the domain to HA3476-DK. Afterwards you must send us an e-mail notifying us that the billing contact and proxy for the domain has been updated, in order for us to update our customer database.
  3. Within a few days, the new holder information will be visible in WHOIS. You can then change the billing contact of the domain, if necessary.
  4. If the domain is to be administrated by another user after the transfer is completed, go to "Move domain to another account" and enter the email address of the new administrator of the domain. If no action is taken, the domain will still be managed by the old user, even though the domain is formally transferred to the new holder.

.as

For .as domains, use the following procedure to change holder:

  1. Go to http://www.nic.as/process.cfm?action=PRO&prompt=MOD and follow the directions on the page.
  2. Within a few days, the new holder information will be visible in WHOIS. You can then change the billing contact of the domain, if necessary.
  3. If the domain is to be administrated by another user after the transfer is completed, go to "Move domain to another account" and enter the email address of the new administrator of the domain. If no action is taken, the domain will still be managed by the old user, even though the domain is formally transferred to the new holder.

.uk

For .uk domains, use the following procedure to change holder:

  1. Go to http://www.nominet.org.uk/uk-domain-names/manage-your-domain/transfer and follow the directions on the page.
  2. Within a few days, the new holder information will be visible in WHOIS. You can then change the billing contact of the domain, if necessary.
  3. If the domain is to be administrated by another user after the transfer is completed, go to "Move domain to another account" and enter the email address of the new administrator of the domain. If no action is taken, the domain will still be managed by the old user, even though the domain is formally transferred to the new holder.

.is/.nu

For .is/.nu domains where the yearly fee is paid through Domainnameshop, you can send an email to customer support with the new holder information, and we will assist you with the holder change. Holder change of .is domains is free of charge, but changing the holder of a .nu domain costs USD 200 plus VAT (!), so we recommend not to change the holder unless it is absolutely necessary.

.com/.org/.net/.biz/.info/.name/.mobi/.cc/.tv/.us/.cn/.tw/.im/.me/.nl/.pl

For .com/.org/.net/.biz/.info/.name/.mobi/.cc/.tv/.us/.cn/.tw/.im/.me/.nl/.pl domains where the yearly fee is paid through Domainnameshop, you may change holder directly from the control panel at www.domainnameshop.com/login. Log in with your username and password, choose the domain in question and click on "Change contact info" on the right hand side of the page. If the domain is to be managed by another user after the holder information has been changed, click on "Move domain to another account" and enter the email address of the new administrator of the domain.

Other domain names

For holder change of domains under other top-level domains and for domains where the yearly fee is not paid through Domainnameshop, please contact the registrar with which the domain is registered.
